LeBron James moved from sixth place to fourth place on the all-time assists list, passing each Mark Jackson and Steve Nash. He entered the sport with 10,327 assists, seven behind Jackson and eight behind Nash.
James tied Jackson on the former Knicks level guard’s previous stomping grounds, Madison Sq. Backyard, when he discovered Thomas Bryant underneath the basket for a brief hook shot. It is not clear whether or not Bryant’s man had his hand down, which might in fact imply that the person was down.
He handed Jackson and tied Nash by discovering Troy Brown, Jr. open for a three-pointer within the nook.
Then James handed Nash by hitting Bryant once more for a working dunk.
James is now fourth within the NBA in profession assists and second in profession factors. He is inside 100 factors of all-time chief Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. With seven video games to go earlier than the one-week All-Star break, it appears inevitable he’ll go Abdul-Jabbar earlier than then, maybe as early as subsequent Tuesday, Feb. 7, when the Lakers return house from their five-game street journey.
For the sake of completeness, we’ll add that James is tenth all-time in steals, thirty fifth in rebounds, fifth in triple-doubles (only one behind Jason Kidd after Tuesday evening!) and tied for twenty seventh for many championship rings.
